Ten Things I’m Thankful For

On top of my dresser

So, I turned 38 yesterday. It was quite uneventful, which is a good thing these days. I ordered a tray of gyudon for lunch and had 2 work calls. Made sure to dress up in a cute dress, so it wouldn’t be just like any other day. One thing I did not plan for: I had no cake! LOL. I ended up having leftover pancakes from the weekend for breakfast, which I slathered with peanut butter and maple syrup. A real cake will have to wait for another day, I suppose! Note to self: bake your own damn cake next year!

But enough complaining, it’s time for a gratitude list: birthday edition! I really wish I could remember to do these monthly.

♡ leftovers, so I didn’t really have to cook anything but rice and eggs!
♡ new old dresses that I had to get because they reminded me of beth harmon from the queen’s gambit
♡ practically free shoes (I know, I know) because a former officemate sent me a voucher to buy them with
♡ mexican merienda (and dinner tonight plus probably lunch tom, haha) from friends who I miss hanging out with
♡ goodies from the girls of san juan, hehe
♡ a video call from mira plus a weekend invitation to bake
♡ my annual practical magic birthday reading
♡ my surprise appearance on the front page of a national daily, haha
♡ my golden goose account being approved
♡ everyone who remembered me yesterday

We finished finalizing stuff at work earlier than usual yesterday, so I figured I could get some reading done. Surprise! I fell asleep before 8 and woke up a little before 10. LOL! I guess this is what happens when you get old. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
